1. Reverse engineering & upgrades

Obsolescence management can be a major issue. Inver’s in-house engineering team has a significant level of reverse engineering experience, all undertaken to strict ISO 9001:2015 requirements; This can significantly assist customers in managing parts obsolescence in trains and trams when OEM support is no longer available.

2. Life Extension

Our life extension services focus on maximising the value and performance of existing rolling stock assets. Through detailed investigation and analysis of component wear, damage, lubrication conditions, and material fatigue, we identify opportunities to extend service life without compromising safety or reliability.

3. Performance testing

We provide comprehensive performance testing services for a wide range of rolling stock systems, including suspension and brake components, gearboxes, motors, locomotive combos and even complete bogies. Using calibrated equipment, our team can rapidly identify issues and generate accurate performance data to support informed repair or replacement decisions. Our testing capabilities include both in-house bench setups and portable solutions, allowing for efficient diagnostics in the workshop or out in the field. Our commitment to rigorous testing ensures ongoing safety, performance, and compliance across all rail operations.

4. Custom design

Our engineers combine industry experience with advanced tools including 2D/3D CAD and FEA software to design custom solutions such as specialised tools, jigs, stillages, material handling systems, and other structural components. Each design is tailored to enhance safety, efficiency, and workflow within workshop or depot environments.

From concept through to first article inspection and final delivery, the same engineer oversees the entire process. With inhouse manufacturing capability and end-to-end project management, we ensure seamless execution and high-quality outcomes.
